Beautiful Spring.

A couple of my institute kids gave me these beautiful flowers the other day. Didn't they open up nice! I love the way they look. This is my mom's old water jar that she kept by the sink to water her plants. I have always loved it.
Have a beautiful day my friends. Spring is coming,....I hope

Tails of Brigham

As you know our Dog Brigham is still a puppy. He is about 7 months old. He is very rotten but it isn't really his fault. As soon as winter started he has been left to his own devices to figure out how to live on the farm. It was too cold to train him, so he saw us as we came in and out of the house. We gave him lots of love but only briefly. Poor little guy.

We were surprised at the size of his feet when we got him and we were sure he was going to be a giant! He is a big dog, just short! He legs haven't grown. Well, because of this, he picks big snow piles and sits on them all day and looks over his kingdom. It is so funny you can always see him on top of these looking around and checking everything out.

The above picture is one of his piles that is melting and I can't believe all the junk he drags out of the garage or garbage to lay and chew on.

Here is the culprit! Isn't he darling? I just love his little face! He has learned to sit now before he gets his cookies! He is a very smart and protective dog we just need to do some training. He and the cats are best of friends and he wanders all over the property looking for things to terrorize. He barks a lot which we have to figure out how to stop him. It is at all the critters in the little woods. I would like him to bark when people come in but he only hides under the deck!!!

When he was little London gave him a shoe to chew on and so he is always after peoples feet! He loves to chew on London. He doesn't bite us but he always bites at her. He has a soft mouth, but still he needs to not do that! Another problem we have to figure out this spring.

When I was looking through his pile picking it up I found this lovely thing....yup...a cats tail. I don't know if he ripped it off a live or a dead one but he loves playing with it! Yuck! Thus the title of the blog.

London is trying to take pictures and he is trying to play....bad doggie!

This is the other thing we found. A few months ago Sean lost his phone I was convinced it dropped into the snow we looked an couldn't find it.....Brigham did and had it in his pile chewed right up! He takes stuff and buries it only to be dug up later and play with it! Grrrr....this one really cost us some $$$$.

What a dog! We love him and are anxious for him to grow out of the puppy stage. He loves grandpa and lives half of the day over on his deck waiting for treats. I have put him into obedience training and I am starting to watch the dog whisperer to figure out how to help him. It is never boring at our house!

I made yummy war won ton Soup the other day and wanted to show pictures and brag so here you go.

The two men in my life that love my cooking! I am so blessed to have people that really appreciate my efforts. They ate several bowls so I think they liked it! lol

It isn't very hard to make but it takes a bit of time so I don't do it to often!

Ohhhh the Luck of the Irish!

I have found this new website that is so fun if you have girls! It is perfect for all of London's hair. She didn't have time for me to do a clover in her hair so I weaved in ribbon instead. For all of you with girls check it out! http://www.princesshairstyles.com it is so fun!

What is ST Pat's day with out Yoda? Anywhoo here are a few Irish blessings for you.
May the Lord keep you in his hand
And never close His fist too tight.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,
May good luck pursue you each morning and night!

Time to Build an ArK?

First off...yes I am alive! I really struggle this time of year to survive. I get depression so bad that I can hardly function on a daily basis! I think it is pathetic, but no matter how hard I seem to tell myself to get at it...I just can't! I have lots of catching up to do so there are a lot of posts to come!
My Dad went for a walk to check out the coulee to see how the melting was going in our little creek and much to his surprise he found a mess. So Sean and I went down for a look and I couldn't believe it! It was like spring run off madness!

This is at the top looking down. It didn't look too bad but as we got closer I couldn't believe the power behind all that water.

This has been such a crazy, cold, snowy, crappy, yucky, icy, endless, dark, dreary, long winter! As you can tell, I am not a big fan of the cold! I know I live in the wrong country but the sun is my friend and I love the heat! So I am excited for spring and I love that it got warm so fast but there is a lot of snow melting with no where to go!

I am going to take a video tomorrow because the noise is amazing. It is just like spring break up happening in the mountains. You wouldn't believe how loud it is. I hope it doesn't do too much damage and that our awesome waterfall will still be there in the spring. I have big plans for a bridge to sit on and hang your feet in the waterfall and a swing down there to sit on and read and have a nap...a big porch swing. I love the sound of water....not this loud and rushing!

Further down the creek as it heads to the river.

I was hoping this big block of ice would fall off while we were there but no such luck! It seems to be just barely hanging on.

Snow....a four letter word!

This year I have seen more snow than I have in years. We had the most beautiful fall, no bugs, warm dry weather, it was amazing. I was thinking maybe winter would skip us this year...no such luck and once it started it didn't seem to let up.

This is our dog Brigham's look out. The poor little guy forgot to grow legs so he sits on any hill and looks out over his kingdom and barks at anything that moves and if it moves closer he protects his land by running and hiding under the deck. What a good protector!

Here are my little merry go round horses that I have had since I was little and just can't seem to part with. I had hours of fun riding my horse to new imaginary places filled with handsome cowboys (and that was just this fall)!

When ever anyone steps outside, Brigham is convinced we are there to play with him. Those are his ears at the bottom of this picture. I took this one so you could see how deep the snow is compared to fence posts.

We have had our share of getting stuck this year as many of you like to remind me when ever it snows. Our drive way is long and partly protected with trees. Where the trees end we have huge drifts form and it makes it really difficult to get out! This is a picture of Sean's truck stuck. It isn't just me! This drift was long and he was stuck for over 3 hours trying to dig out. He was late for work this day!

Isn't this an amazing sunrise. The colors were so beautiful...pink sky in the morning sailors take warning....it must be going to bring more snow!

Here is our little bell covered after a snow storm. I thought it looked so neat in the perfect shape of the bell and horse.

I don't know if I blogged our new front door yet! Isn't it amazing?! We got rid of the old broken down one.

We had some terrible blizzards and one week I didn't leave the house for 5 days. I couldn't face the roads....or rather the ditches. I will be so happy to see spring. I hope it is hot! My perfect world would be hot each day and rain every night. No rainy days and I wouldn't care if I saw snow again! Go away!

Out of Order

Well, I have to drop a line to say *sniff*...I am sick. I have been in my jammies for 3 days now with an odd bath in between and change of underwear occasionally. I am feeling smelly and greasy.

I have spread the sickness to my family now. So not only have to hear my complaints but theirs as well.

On the bright side, I have crocheted a ton of hats and a new fancy bag...got some work done, watched a ton of "Hoarders" and worked on my sleeping techniques (nightmares of rats and dead cats from the TV show "Hoarders") . I have missed out on a ton this week. I am going to institute as I am not sick enough to miss it and I love my kids. So much I am going to spread my germs around....jokes, I am not contagious anymore ( I hope!)
